John Anthony Martinez (born 1966) is an American drummer, songwriter, and producer who has written for Modern Drummer magazine. An alumnus of the "famed" Fiorello Laguardia High School of Music & The Performing Arts in New York City, he went on to Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts where he studied Performance and Music Production and Engineering. He is most recognized as one of the core members, along with Ms. Shueh-li Ong, of electronic music group Xenovibes. He has recorded or performed with Larry Blackmon of Cameo, Ronnie Laws, Joseph Vincelli, Tom Browne, Howard Scott (WAR), Jean Carne, Kim Waters, Dean Parks, Bernard Wright, Phil Driscoll, Shelley Carroll, Andy Timmons, Larry Willis, Bill Ham, Cindy Cruise-Ratcliff, Bradley Knight, Bobby Sparks, Keith Anderson, Chuck Rainey, Buddy Miles, Julius Dobos, Bruce Faulconer, and Bill Tillman.
John is currently studying Christian Apologetics at the University of Oxford where he is reading for a Certificate in Theological and Pastoral studies.
